The Mesivta of Las Vegas is a yeshiva high school for boys providing the highest standard in both Jewish and general education to the local Jewish community. At the Mesivta, we strive to show our students the beauty of our heritage and support each one in his quest for personal development. Through our comprehensive Torah and college-preparatory general studies program, our goal is to graduate educated young men who are inspired and committed to lead a Torah-true life.
Torah Studies-Limudei Kodesh:
Through the Mesivta’s Torah studies curriculum, students will accumulate a broad knowledge of Torah concepts. The courses are structured to enable students to develop textual and analytical skills, which will equip them for independent, in depth study. Emphasis is also placed on appreciating the Torah’s insight into all aspects of life.
The Mesivta’s general studies program is designed to prepare our students to excel in whatever career they choose to pursue. Emphasis is placed on mastering skills such as critical thinking, analytical writing, and problem solving, in order to ready our graduates for college and success in the 21st century workforce.
The Bais Medrash is a 3-year post-high school Yeshiva program. Students spend their day immersed in advanced Torah study from early in the morning until late at night. The Bais Medrash Rebbeim deliver daily lectures and are available during independent study periods to help guide the students in their learning. The Bais Medrash program emphasizes character refinement through a daily Mussar study session and two weekly Mussar discourses, and the Rebbeim are available to provide personal guidance, as well.
The presence of the Bais Medrash on the same campus as the high school affords the younger students daily opportunities to interact with and observe the Bais Medrash students. The Bais Medrash students serve as mentors and role models for the younger students. Bais Medrash students pair with high school students on a weekly basis for one-on-one study.
The Bais Medrash students contribute to the vibrancy of the local community. Each week, the students visit one of the shuls in Las Vegas and “set up shop.” They either study with community members, or they engage in their regular study regime in this community setting. Additionally, students will often share Shabbos meals with members of the community. This allows for exposure, so local younger children can see these accomplished young men up close and aspire to be like them.
